Exhibition: 20th Century Chess Pieces

Posted on: May 29, 2012

During the World Chess Championship match in the Russian capital, the Moscow House of Photography is running an exhibition: “Chess figures. 20th Century” which features a number of unique chess sets, including examples of 19th century sets. More than 100 photographs as well as posters of the most important tournaments are on display.

The unique photos and chess sets symbolize that chess is ancient yet enduringly popular, and demonstrates that people treat chess as an art, not just as a game.
